Gov. Sule Appoints Eight New Commissioners, Assembly Fixes Friday for Screening

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State has forwarded the names of eight commissioner nominees to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Ph.D, announced the nominees during plenary on Wednesday in Lafia while reading Governor Sule’s correspondence to the House.
The nominees are:
- Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo – Wamba Local Government Area
- Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed – Lafia Local Government Area
- Hon. Mohammed Baba Shehu – Keffi Local Government Area
- Hon. Mohammed Iyimoga – Obi Local Government Area
- Rebecca Adamu Kpadji – Wamba Local Government Area
- Nawani Aboki – Doma Local Government Area
- Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim, FCNA – Nasarawa Local Government Area
- Ashefo Daniel Paul, Ph.D – Lafia Local Government Area
Following the announcement, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to communicate with the nominees to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae (CVs) ahead of their screening.
The House fixed Friday, August 7, 2026, for the screening of the commissioner nominees, after which successful candidates are expected to be confirmed to join Governor Sule’s cabinet in further advancing the administration’s development agenda.
