Foremost Youth Leader, Comr. Daniel Sapele Commends Tantita’s Achievements, Says Tribalism and Ethnic Sentiments Must Stop for Oil Security and Economic Growth.

Foremost youth leader, Comrade Daniel Sapele, has commended the outstanding achievements of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited across the Niger Delta, describing the company’s performance as critical to sustaining national oil security and strengthening Nigeria’s economic stability.

In a statement issued to journalists, Comr. Daniel Sapele praised the operational efficiency, professionalism, and measurable impact recorded by Tantita in safeguarding critical oil and gas infrastructure in the region. He noted that since the company assumed responsibility for the oil surveillance contract, there has been a remarkable improvement in pipeline protection, reduction of crude oil theft, and increased national oil output.

According to him, Tantita has demonstrated capacity not only in executing its mandate effectively but also in promoting inclusivity by engaging sub-contractors and personnel from diverse ethnic nationalities across the Niger Delta, including the Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw and other communities.

“It is on record that Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is delivering on its mandate with impressive results. Beyond performance, the company has created employment opportunities for tens of thousands of youths across ethnic divides, thereby reducing restiveness and fostering regional stability,” the statement read.

Comr. Daniel Sapele emphasized that oil security has never been about tribe but about competence, integrity, and commitment to national interest. He recalled that prior oil surveillance contracts had been handled by individuals and interests from different ethnic backgrounds, all of whom enjoyed cooperation across communities, reinforcing the fact that the responsibility is a national assignment rather than a tribal entitlement.

Comr. Sapele specifically commended the Managing Director of Tantita, Engr. Kestin Pondi and the Head of Operation Chief Godfrey Pondi for providing visionary leadership, strengthening operational structures, and ensuring that the company’s impact is felt beyond pipeline surveillance. Under his leadership, the company has maintained discipline, transparency, and measurable performance standards in the discharge of its duties.

Comr. Daniel Sapele further applauded Tantita for its numerous goodwill initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects which, according to him, have directly impacted host communities irrespective of ethnic colouration. These interventions, he noted, cut across community development support, youth engagement initiatives, and humanitarian assistance that have improved livelihoods and strengthened trust between the company and local populations.

While acknowledging these achievements, he expressed concern over growing tribal narratives and social media campaigns aimed at discrediting the company’s efforts. He warned that introducing ethnic sentiments into oil security discussions is divisive, counterproductive, and capable of undermining the fragile peace currently enjoyed in the region.

“Oil infrastructure protection is a national duty that requires unity, cooperation, and competence. We therefore urge detractors using social media platforms to attack Tantita to refrain from such actions and instead support constructive engagement for the overall good of the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole,” he stated.

Comr. Daniel Sapele also called on the Federal Government to sustain and, where necessary, expand support for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, while continuing to engage host communities in ways that consolidate peace and strengthen partnerships in securing Nigeria’s oil assets.

He concluded by urging political leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and community stakeholders to speak firmly against tribalism and divisive tendencies, stressing that the stability and growth of Nigeria’s oil sector remain fundamental to the nation’s economic prosperity and collective development.
