Egbo Restores Chief MacPherson Igbedi as Uwheru Kingdom PG at Peace and Security Meeting

Olorogun Barr Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, has restored Chief MacPherson Igbedi to his position as President General of Uwheru Kingdom during the Ughelli North Peace and Security Meeting held today.

The meeting, which took place at the chairman’s office, was attended by traditional rulers and key security stakeholders, including representatives of the Nigerian Army, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Immigration Service amongst others.

Barr. Egbo explained that the earlier suspension of Chief Igbedi could not legally exceed six months and noted that the issues that led to his suspension had been resolved. He stressed that anyone who still has grievances against Chief Igbedi should seek redress in court, adding that the government cannot act beyond its powers.He further emphasized that the community’s constitution clearly outlines the proper procedures for the removal of a President General. He therefore advised Chief Igbedi to return home, reunite his people, and work towards sustaining lasting peace in Uwheru Kingdom.

In his response, Chief MacPherson Igbedi expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for his reinstatement. He pledged to convene a meeting at home to reconcile all parties, reunite his people, and ensure that peace continues to reign in Uwheru Kingdom.
