Delta State, Nigeria – In a passionate and strategic appeal to the people of Delta State, Comrade Opia Joshua has called on all Deltans to rally behind the administration of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his deputy, His Excellency Sir Monday Onyeme, as well as support the progressive leadership of the Most Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko and other political stakeholders championing development across the state.
Speaking during a media interaction in Asaba, Comrade Opia emphasized that the time has come for Deltans to look beyond political divisions and embrace a collective vision for progress. According to him, only through sincere collaboration and unity of purpose can the state achieve sustained infrastructure growth, economic empowerment, and true democratic dividends.
He praised the ongoing efforts of Governor Oborevwori’s administration, citing visible strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth development under the MORE Agenda. Comrade Opia noted that these achievements, though impressive, require the continued support of all citizens and political actors to ensure their sustainability and expansion.
“As we move forward, it is imperative for us to support leadership that is people-focused, inclusive, and development-driven. Governor Oborevwori and his team have shown genuine commitment to building a better Delta. Now is the time to strengthen our resolve and support this administration with unity and purpose,” Comrade Opia stated.
He further shed light on the recent political realignment in the state, describing the folding of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a bold and strategic move rooted in the best interest of Deltans. According to him, the consolidation of political forces into one united party presents an unprecedented opportunity for Delta State to reposition itself on the national stage.
“The merging of PDP into APC is not just a political calculation—it is a strategic realignment aimed at giving Delta State a stronger voice and better access to federal opportunities. This unity will allow us to push for more projects, attract investments, and create a more stable political atmosphere for growth,” he explained.
Comrade Opia called on party leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, civil society organizations, and the general public to embrace this spirit of unity. He emphasized that political cooperation should not be viewed through the lens of party rivalry but rather through the shared goal of delivering good governance and improving the lives of citizens.
“Our diversity should be our strength, not our weakness. Let us unite under one umbrella, speak with one voice, and work together for the progress of our beloved Delta State. Together, we can build a state that future generations will be proud of,” he concluded.
As Delta State stands at the crossroads of transformation, Comrade Opia’s message is a timely reminder that unity, purpose, and leadership are the cornerstones of meaningful progress.
