Comr. Ambassador Isaac Kigbu (JP) has expressed his readiness to partner with the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) to enroll 200 vulnerable individuals from his community into the state health insurance scheme through the adoption model.
As the Chairman and CEO of the Akyenyi Kigbu Memorial Foundation, Kigbu made this announcement in Akaleku, Obi Local Government Area, on Friday while launching a free medical outreach in collaboration with the Ahmed Abimiku Health Care Foundation.
Kigbu explained that this initiative aims to assist the vulnerable population in his community by alleviating the financial burden of healthcare and ensuring that essential services are accessible.
During the visit of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency’s sensitization team, Comr. Kigbu reiterated his commitment to collaborating with the agency to enhance the quality of life for his people. He commended the state government for its initiative in promoting health insurance.
“We would like to partner with them, we would get the list of the most vulnerable individuals in the Akaleku community. Our goal is to register at least 200 people for the health insurance scheme, allowing them to access free healthcare services whenever they are not feeling fine” Kigbu stated.
He pledged to start with 200 vulnerable individuals, with the possibility of increasing the number as the scheme progresses.
Earlier in a remark, the Director of Marketing and Business Development and leader of the sensitization team, Hadiza Dogara (Mrs.), applauded the CEO of the Akyenyi Kigbu Memorial Foundation for his commitment to the welfare and well-being of his community.
Mrs. Dogara emphasized the agency’s mission to provide quality, effective, and affordable healthcare services to all residents of the state, aiming for universal health coverage by 2030.
She explained that the purpose of their participation in the medical outreach was to explore ways the agency could partner with Comr. Ambassador Isaac Kigbu to relieve him of costs and to ensure more sustainable healthcare benefits for the beneficiaries.
The three-day free medical services include surgical procedures, medical consultations, free medications and treatments, eye consultations and glasses, as well as laboratory tests, all is being held at the Akaleku Primary Health Care Centre.
