ABUJA — The Founder and Harmony Corps General of the Harmony Corps of Nigeria, Amb. Mrs. Elizabeth Omini, was on Tuesday, August 5, 2026 honoured with the prestigious Women in Security Award by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists – NAWOJ.
The award was presented to her during the Women in Security – WINSEC Summit and Awards held today in Abuja. The summit was convened to recognize and celebrate outstanding Nigerian women who have made significant contributions to peacebuilding, security advocacy, community development, and national cohesion.
The WINSEC Award celebrates Amb. Omini’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, conflict resolution, humanitarian service, and youth engagement through the Harmony Corps of Nigeria — a volunteer organization dedicated to fostering unity, dialogue, and sustainable development across communities in Nigeria.
In her remarks after receiving the award, Amb. Omini dedicated the honour to the officers, volunteers, and partners of the Harmony Corps of Nigeria whose sacrifices continue to advance peace at the grassroots.
“This award is not just for me. It is for every woman and youth working silently in communities to ensure that peace prevails over conflict. At Harmony Corps, we believe that security begins with unity, and unity begins with dialogue. We will continue to serve humanity,” she stated.
