UGHELLI NORTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, JARO EGBO, OFFICIALLY FLAGS OFF THE CHAIRMANSHIP CUP COMPETITION 2025 AMIDST FANFARES..

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr Jaro Movudu Egbo Ksc, officially flagged off the opening ceremony of the Ughelli North Local Government Chairman’s cup competition 2025, to mark his one year in office.

The opening ceremony which took place today 23rd July 2025, at the Oharisi Primary School playground, attracted dignitaries from various spheres of life including, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Rt Hon Kelly Ajero Okeoghene Prosper, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Pastor Unuavworho Irikefe Goodluck, other principal officers of the Ughelli North Local Government Council, Councilors, respected Chiefs, community leaders, and lovers of sports.

In his address, the Chairman said that the purpose of the competition is to promote peace and unity among the seven kingdoms of Ughelli North and for camaraderie, which defines the people of Ughelli North.

This competition, featuring Teams across our seven kingdoms in Ughelli North, is a platform to showcase not only talent but also the rich cultural camaraderie that defines our people. Egbo added “

The Council Boss thanked the sports committee and all stakeholders who had put in their efforts to ensure that the event was successful. He also commended the traditional rulers and community leaders in Ughelli North LGA for their continuous support towards peace and youth development.

He prayed that as the Chairman’s cup competition kicks off today, may it usher in not only excitement and entertainment, but also Unity, talent discovery, and a renewed Hope for MORE commitment to youth and community development in Ughelli North LGA..

The highlight of the Chairman’s speech was the commendation note to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff F.O Oborevwori for the approval of a Flyover Bridge at Otovwodo junction Ughelli, urging all Ughelli North residents to queue behind the Governor in 2027 for more meaningful development and Empowerment for our people..
