APPMEN HAILS MIDDLE BELT FORUM CHAIRMAN AS XIK OF AFRICA HONOURS HIM FOR NATIONAL COHESION, PEACE AND UNITY

The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishments of Nigeria (APPMEN) has felicitated the Chairman of the Middle Belt Forum on his conferment with the prestigious Xik of Africa Award for National Cohesion, Peace, Unity, Stability and Development Advocacy, describing the honour as well-deserved and timely.
In a goodwill message signed by its Grand Patron, HRH Amb. Dr. Joel Sabo Aninge, Ph.D (Law), MFR, Paramount Ruler of Nyankpa Chiefdom, Nasarawa State, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, National Executive Council and the entire membership of over 1000 private media proprietors across Nigeria, APPMEN said the award could not have come at a better time in the nation’s history.
“In an era plagued by disinformation, ethnic suspicion and divisive narratives, you have remained a consistent, courageous and credible voice for what binds us together as a people,” the statement read.
APPMEN lauded the Middle Belt Forum Chairman for demonstrating through his advocacy that one can be firm in identity yet broad in national outlook, vocal against injustice yet committed to peaceful coexistence.
The media proprietors body noted that as gatekeepers of public information, it values most leaders whose words heal rather than wound, who build bridges where others dig trenches, and whose public interventions promote stability over sensationalism.
“You embody these values. Your commitment to peace in the Middle Belt, to national unity, and to inclusive development aligns perfectly with APPMEN’s core mandate of using private media to promote truth, ethics and national stability,” HRH Aninge stated.
Describing the recipient not just as Chairman of the Middle Belt Forum but as a true Patriot, Bridge-Builder and worthy Role Model for younger Nigerians, APPMEN said the recognition would energize him for greater service to the nation.
The Xik of Africa Award, instituted in honour of Nigeria’s first President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, recognizes distinguished Africans whose lives and work promote unity, peace and pan-African development.
